It's finally feeling like summer around here! We have had 3 full days of sun with no rain or snow. I count that as a win! If you follow me on social media, you'll know that we have had a super rough spring...technically it's still spring, but usually we are watering our grass beginning to mid May. It's mid-June and still haven't turned on our sprinklers. This weather is perfect since today I'll be sharing my dining room with you all for Marty's from A Stroll Thru Life's summer tour! This is where 30 bloggers share some amazing summer decor inspiration with you all week! You can see the full list at the bottom of the post. If you are joining along the blog hop, and have just come from Follow The Yellow Brick Home, welcome!

This year all around my home I have included lots and lots of terracotta. I found an easy technique to faux age the pots and kind of got carried away :) So, I have them all over....and the dining room was no exception.

The only thing that changes seasonal in my dining room is what goes on my table, like place settings and the tablescape. I tend to change up the pillows on the head of the table along with the draped blanket. Why do I need pillows and a blanket in here? I don't :) I just love the look and it makes it so inviting.
For the tablescape, I used a variety of terracotta pots. You can see how I aged them here (tutorial). I placed them in this vintage wood crate, added some height with other pots and a planter stool.

For the places settings, I kept it really simple. I found these amazing new chargers from Kirklands to change things up from my normal rattan ones.
I put a simple sprig from my boxwood on each plate, just to add enough of a pop of color.
I added a little greenery and hug some more boxwood sprigs to my cup rack. This isn't an angle I show to much and I don't know why ...I guess it's the fact I have to go knee deep in my kids toys to get this angle :)

For my buffet, this stays the same for the most part besides slight changes.

I just did a tutorial on how to make your very own vintage style cutting board last week. I have a slight obsession with them...both handmade or store bought. You can probably tell if you look around all these pictures :)
I played around with changing up my lavender gallery wall but ultimately came back to them. I think they are timeless and I couldn't find anything better. You can see the tutorial on how to make them here (tutorial). Also, this shiplap/planked wall was one of the first projects I did in my house about 10 years ago, and is still my favorite! It brings so much character into the space. You can see the tutorial for it here.
And there you have it! I'll be sharing all my rooms and my new patio update in the coming weeks, so be sure to come back and check them out :)

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Hobby Lobby. The opinions and text are all mine.

One of my favorite rooms to decorate during Christmas is my dining room. I try to do something new in here every year. This year, I teamed up with Hobby Lobby to help change things up a bit. There's no question that I'm a big Hobby Lobby fan, you would know if you read through my posts :) As I was wondering through the aisles (which takes hours by the way), I decided to go with a non-traditional theme. So, I ditched the reds and golds and opted for greenery, wood, and nature...albeit, faux nature in some cases...to bring this look together.

Here's my haul. You should have seen me walking out of there with all the bags! :)

But, it came together perfectly! In the video posted at the bottom, you can see my process in decorating everything.

TABLESCAPE
I found this amazing lantern on display at my local Hobby Lobby store and fell in love it. I bought it a few weeks ago and had it sitting on my table with too many ideas on what to do with it.

I knew I wanted something climbing up it, so when I found these pine tree and pine cone stems I knew they were perfect for my idea.

I bent the end part of the stems, placed the none decorated part underneath the lantern,  and 'climbed' them up two of the sides.

When I decorate my tablescape, I like to use the tiered approach by starting high in the middle and gradually getting smaller towards the ends. I accomplished this with these candlesticks, also from Hobby Lobby. They are in two heights, two on each side of the lantern.

To add some filler, I used some more faux green stems and pine cones coming from underneath the lantern towards the candlesticks.

I've started to collect bread boards recently, so when I found this one I knew it belonged on the tablescape.

I bought a bag of potpourri that was full of these beautiful pine cones, cinnamon sticks, and wood slices. I placed them along the table runner and the bread board.

For the inside of the lantern, I put already burnt candles. I liked the already burnt look because it showed a little age and rustic-ness.

 PLACE SETTINGS

I like to keep it pretty simple as far as place settings go. We are a really casual family so they rarely come out if at all. So, when they do, I don't want make a fuss with them.

I used my normal chargers, round plates, and alternating bowls for the main pieces.

I then placed these cute greyish blue ticking napkins in between the dishes.

And topped off each bowl with a place card holder. I made the name tags out of frayed ribbon and glued some card stock on the back to give it more stiffness.

I love that the napkins match the ticking table runner. It gives it a wonderfully cohesive look.

Even though I have a lot of greenery in here and it sometimes feels like a botanical garden, I love the look. It's like bringing nature inside and looks super organic.

OTHER DECORATING IDEAS
I like to switch out my pillows for every season, and found these perfect plaid pillow covers at Hobby Lobby also. They are kind of like a soft sweater material. I put one on each chair at the end of the table.

Dried lavender used to hang on my gallery wall behind the table, but since I didn't feel that quite fit the look I was going for, I changed them out for hanging pine cones instead.

I simple took some jute, knotted it on one end, tied the loose end into a bow and then glued the bow onto the stem of the pine cone. I finished it off with a faux evergreen stem.

I'm still loving the faux beams I have in here. I think I love them so much that one day soon I'll be making them a little chunkier and more substantial.
