Halloween has grown on me over the years. I never really decorated for it until I had kids, but funny enough, I have yet to dress up for it since I had kids :) That probably makes me a boring mom, ha! Oh well.
Even though I now decorate for Halloween, I don't do it for very long; I don't put in a lot of effort and I definitely make it as easy as possible. Here is my list of last minute easy halloween decor and some projects that I have done over the years.
GLITTERY SPIDERWEB
First up is this glittery spiderweb. This can easily be made into a place mat or hung anywhere for other decor. (tutorial here)
SKULL VASE
This DIY skull vase is probably one of my faves. It doesn't require much time and it's probably the prettiest Halloween decor you will see. (tutorial here)
HALLOWEEN GALLERY WALL
I made this a few years ago to amuse my kids. This was used doing lots of dollar store finds and a few craft store items. (tutorial here)
OMBRE SKULL TOWER/TREE
Last year for Halloween, I was doing a pastel-oween. This skull tree was a big hit! (tutorial here)
FLYING BATS
My favorite thing is adding bats throughout my house. So many of us have the curly willow stems, and they work amazing to hang bats from! You can find these bats from almost any store that carries Halloween decor.
MOUSE SILHOUETTES
My favorite way to decorate my porch stairs and my entryway are with these little cut out mice silhouettes. You can find these already cut out at most stores, or if you have a Cricut or Silhouette, they are super easy to cut out from there!
BLACK LACED LAMP SHADE
This is probably the easiest idea in this post and literally takes seconds. If you have a lace shirt (or lingerie), simple stretch it over a white lamp shade. Boom and done!
SKULL IN A LANTERN
My favorite way to use skulls is to put them in lanterns. It's like your own little gross collection. Any lantern works as long as it fits the skull :)
FLYING BATS
This is my go-to decor every year. I use cutout bat silhouettes and make them fly across my mantel. Another cute idea for this is having them fly across the door or window.
DEAD AND BREAKFAST SIGN
This is technically one of the hardest projects in here to do, the most time consuming, but it's easy to take ideas from this. Simply buy a plaque at the craft store, paint it, and then stencil "Dead and Breakfast" on it. You can hang it from a post, hang it from your front door or hang it on the wall. (tutorial here)
TATTERED THROW BLANKET
This one is another easy Halloween decor idea. They sell these little tattered pieces of material at Target and Walmart. I drape mine along my tables, and sometimes my mantel. But I love using them on my chairs.
INFESTED HALLOWEEN WREATH
Adorn your door with a gross wreath! (tutorial here)
SKULL ON A PLATTER
Find fun places for skulls and bones! I loved this one on my centerpiece platter, especially with the little hands coming out.
WASHI TAPE PUMPKINS
Quickly spruce up painted or non-painted pumpkins with washi tape!
CHALKBOARD "BOO" DOILIES
For some reason, black lace or doilies just give off the best Halloween vibe to me. I made this "boo" banner using chalkboard paint and doilies. (tutorial here)
BLACK AND LACE MASON JAR VOTIVES
Once again, black and lace! I love the look of these when they are burning at night. (tutorial here)
PORCH HALLOWEEN DECOR
I love using real flame for Halloween. I keep mine kept safe in a lantern...obviously take every precaution to make sure where you are lighting it is safe :) I also place the mouse silhouettes on the door bell (with a spider on the button!), and along the door and steps.
That's it for the line up! Hopefully it gave you some inspiration to decorate for Halloween when you are short on time or just need something easy! What is your go-to Halloween decor? I need some ideas! My kids want me to go creepier! ha~
